The sequence selected for this programme is the last part of the Cantata. Modigliani, on his deathbed, goes back over the last moments of his all-consuming love of Jeanne Hébuterne, his young companion and model who threw herself off the fifth floor after Amedeo died. She was not among the friends who attended the emotional funeral, but was to remain by Modigliani's side in eternity in the cemetery of Père-Lachaise.
